There's nothing better than getting an abnormally heavy small package in the mail! The scent of metal and old air wafting out of the opened box, it smells like...trouble. As I peruse my acquisition, my hands slowly build up a thin graphite-like layer of grey as I carefully bend and adjust legs swords and axes made of the soft metal.
Lead. Beautiful, Deadly, Wonderous, Terrible, Lovely, Toxic, Lead Minis!
Giants, and trolls, and wizards, and wraiths, OH MY! his particular batch is very special to me as it contains TWO minis I have wanted for a long while, and serendipity has struck as both were in the same listing! I made (what I thought was) a reasonable offer to the seller, and he agreed! Hazzah! The two minis of high personal value to me are: The Three Stooges Troll (Partha '79) and Death Dealer (Partha '77)! Ah how I have pined for these bad boys!
As rough as these minis came, a nice little soapy bath is able to clean them right up. Luckily whoever tried to paint them never primed them, I got the paint off very easily. Of course, with my severe lack of patience, I had to paint up one of my grails IMMIDIATLY! So I stayed up late last night to bring you this monstrous masterpiece!
Tricius Idioticus, and their Slapstick!
Anyhow, he is not yet based and will not yet be joining my army until he is, but I was too excited to show him painted up to wait any longer!
The Three Stooges Troll and Death Dealer ??
ReplyDeleteThat is a win right there, especially Death Dealer.
Yes sir! I am quite happy, and very excited to get death dealer added (he will lead a unit of marauder horsemen), though sadly he has no axe, so I will need to craft him a new one before I can get him painted.
